Tiny dream coming true this week: After teaching for over 15 years, I finally get to walk into the classroom as Dr. Weaver. I am leading a graduate course I designed on equity in higher education that is grounded in critical empathy.

The best thing about working from home with kids? Wait, hold on, do you know how to get this knot untied? How did that get on the floor? STOP hiding the toy from the dog! No, you can't eat a bag of croutons. I'm in a meeting, please stop singing Hamilton songs. What was I saying?

It's increasingly important to understand, & use, critical lenses in quant work conducted in education research. but Hasn't been an intellectual home for scholars advancing/applying critical quantitative methods. Now, in #AERA, there can be! 🚨 petition: surveymonkey.com/r/WCQCQZW

Trying to find community agreements that do not center the comfort of those with majoritized identities. Any suggestions?

I'm glad to see this article troubling challenges to power in the classroom. Power isn't equal across faculty; challenging it comes with different risks and experiences. chronicle.com/article/academ…

I have long used journaling in my undergraduate diversity courses, but this is the first semester I have tried them in a graduate class. And I'm seeing how this practice can truly be part of a critical constructivist/SJ pedagogy.

I am in that post-graduation/ongoing job search life transition, which can be very lonely and vulnerable. I'm so grateful to have people like @miloopaa, Nick Stroup and Amanda Mollet who keep me grounded and fuel my scholarly and self love along the way.

ASHE reviews completed. The last one focused on joy and queerness and I couldn't be more grateful for the beauty, criticality, and hope it carried.
