If the NET score is sufficient to select the P6 teams in the NIT, why does the committee select the next best 20 teams instead of using remaining 20 best NET scores?

NIT changes are designed to cause teams with better NET scores traveling to a P6 school with a worse NET score. The NCAA should explain their rationale. Sunshine is a great disinfectant!

4 non-P6 teams appeared in the last 4 #NIT championship games (2 were champs). Parity is high in college hoops, what is the rationale of the #NCAA to restrict non-P6 opportunities?
