Everyone lost vs Apple doing this themselves. - Apple lost control, credibility, revenue, trust... - Consumers are gonna be confused and scammed. There's no cancellation requirements, etc etc - Apps have to split funnels, split regions, build tons of flows and protection...

Obvious move at this point. Having every app developer ship a hacky workaround to avoid the outrageous commission is worse for Apple and worse for users. But somehow I suspect they’ll drag their feet.
