Coaches saying they can’t have/add too many plays at Higher levels is crazy to me - We installed a pro style O in HS with formations, motions & a variety of concepts, along with 10-12 new concepts/plays each week… drew them up & gave to guys Sunday of each week & they embraced

Coaching Tip of the Day: make sure you can run MOST of your Offense from tight alignments - Stacks, Bunches, etc - bc it can give a distinct advantage on specific plays by changing the positioning of the D & making reads easier on your QB! Keys: 1) Release patterns of the WRs

Another Coaching Tip as Games get going: Give Your QB ownership in O bc he is one with ball in his hands! Easy for us as coaches to think we have all the answers, and you might, but if the QB doesn’t understand those answers in your plays it does little good other than to defend

1 ? I have so often when watching film is why do plays have to be “man” OR “zone” beaters? There are so many ways w/ formations, motions, release patterns, etc… that can take really good zone plays & make them man plays also! Then u don’t have to be 100% as play caller!

Heard an OC this week say our offense “is really pretty simple, we just make it look difficult”! Love this approach… change formations, motions, etc & run SAME plays OR give the D the SAME presentation, formations, motions, etc & have 3-4 complimentary plays so they don’t know!

Let’s not get it wrong, I LOVED having LOTS of pass plays each week, so we had answers for everything, BUT they were all built from our base so it was easy to understand the WHY, & once your QB understands the weaknesses of D the answers should make sense to them fairly quickly!

Thank you I enjoyed interview! I would say yes they are more complicated from the standpoint of who is “popping” out into coverage now! Identifying the “HOT” isn’t more difficult but making sure an unexpected player isn’t dropping is most difficult aspect!
