I mentioned yesterday how few “football” convos I have outside my circle… then I had a 30min deep dive convo with Joel Klatt last night & it fed my soul!!!

I dreamed about this day many times growing up! Dreaming of my name being called on “draft day”, many young men wake up today having had that same dream & tonight (& over next 3 days) it becomes a reality! So awesome, congrats to all & excited to be a part of it with NFL Network

It’s about this time of year, when heading to draft, that I’m continually amazed at how few ppl outside my direct circle, I talk ball (deep dive the X/Os) with!! Worst case to just challenge thinking, best case to gain some knowledge… every year I think it will be more? 🤷🏻‍♂️

It starts by asking them! Watching film, giving them plays & asking them what they “see” & what they’re thinking!

I want to know why when they ran the same play & got the same look they did something different? Talk me through your thought process? Do they understand what is

It would take a lot of sitting in a room & diving into the mental side of the game… getting a sense of how they think, what they are looking at & what they are able to see (even though it’s in a room & doesn’t guarantee they can do on field that quickly) just to give me baseline

I believe it all comes down to can the QB “see” the concepts a system asks him to see; in other words does it make sense to them based on how they play the game or see the game!

But in the end you have to be able to “see” the game to be great as a passer & so I’m not sure there

It’s off-season time, I encourage QBs, QB Coaches, & Offensive Coaches to become a part of QBConfidential.com & grow in the game! QBs it has all the tools you need! QB Coaches make it your curriculum to teach your guys on &, more importantly, off the field! Coaches find the

“Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You”!!! (Just feel we all need to hear this today & more often)

As I’m watching some UFL football this comes across my feed & to think no one thought I could play before 1999… so glad there were other leagues then & now to allow guys to stay around long enough to maybe get their shot like I did!

What do you do on an international flight? I draw up 3rd-long & Tite-RedZone pass plays!! 🤣 I know, I have a problem!!!

The more I watch college tape in prep for the draft, the more I realize how much QBs are at the mercy of the play call & defense run… very few concepts have great answers for QB vs all things & couple that with same plays over & over for a defense to see!

One thing I love about

My process when evaluating QB - both as a coach & analyst:

1) Look at play & decipher (based on experience & understanding defenses - although don’t know what one is taught in room) what read is/should be
- In other words, not just looking to see if someone else is open, but

So the way I like to run this drill is I give them a throw to make… so when they get to top of drop their goal is to get set, loaded & throw. I will have them throw MOST of the time, on time, so that becomes their normal position at top (loaded & ready)… then once they get
