Chase the boring and the consistent.

There’s a fine line between being selfless and selfish. Tread that line. Selfishness is ensuring your gain/advantage, selflessness is helping others at your loss/disadvantage. We should maximize opportunities to be there for others, that causes no apparent loss to us.

I think that a great question to ask yourself when interacting is with others is whether you’re making their life incrementally better or worse. If your answer is better, keep it up but if not, you either need to change your interaction behavior with them or stop interacting.
