And despite costing millions £, it has had problems ever since: leaking roof, lifts out of action for months, noisy stairwells, blocked toilets & electrical wiring issues. The original top-floor cafe has been closed, leaving only the ground-floor one. Award-winning? What a joke.

But, sadly, for many staff who taught them it will be LaidOffInKingston.

Kingston Uni's marketing consists of lots of shiny pictures of its new Town House, which cost millions £. But at the rate the VC is wielding the axe the Uni will be left with giant empty buildings with hardly any staff & dramatically reduced choice in courses. Be warned. 😡

Some places do it differently (more subtlety?). They "reorganise", down grade jobs, "offer" the down graded jobs (with v similar expectation for work responsibiliteis to the same poople (if they are lucky) and say take it or (literally) leave it. The net effect is the same?

For Kingston Uni staff, the VC's favourite slogan 'MadeInKingston' is insulting & rings hollow. Given all the savage cuts to courses, depts & staff our grossly overpaid VC is pushing through, a more truthful slogan would be 'LaidOffInKingston'.

Just a pity it treats its staff so badly, culling jobs & axing courses. Insulting how the Senior Leadership likes to take credit for these TEF results, & conveniently forgets they would not be possible without the hard-working staff they are so keen to get rid of. Madness.

Kingston Uni's 'Senior Leadership Team' has restructured itself in recent weeks but its been like watching the Captain of the Titanic secure the remaining lifebelts for his gang while the passengers (staff) are made to jump into the icy waves, as the Band plays LaidOffInKingston.

Nice to see you show an interest in local history. Pity KU axed its History Dept, another victim of the philistine VC, along with Politics, Sociology, Humanities, etc, etc.
