Senate GOP discussed the FISA imbroglio in the House today. Most want to see the House's reform bill pass rather than a clean extension, although leaders don't want the program to expire either so that's clearly the fallback plan

Two members (on opposite sides of 702 debate) tell me and John Sakellariadis that Johnson expected to change the 702 bill to a two-year reauthorization as GOP prepares to bring it back to Rules (tentatively) today.

Says he’s here to talk “the STAGE Act”and “giving funding to nonprofit theaters”

Norman (Rules Committee member) says he expects Rules to reconvene this afternoon to tee up 702 reauth for the floor again.

Said ideas floating around, but hasn’t seen details from leadership yet.
