Started Riverside USD 114 for a chat w their EC class followed by a stop Leavenworth USD 453’s teaching class. Cool fact is Mrs. Wolters attend KFTA prior to becoming a teacher! Then saw one of my all time favs Amy Jo Troyer! She saw something in me 18 years ago as a new student Emporia State Univ.!

Great visit BLHS Athletics then a quick trip to see Dustin Springer who is excited to come back to #kfta2023! Then a visit to Washington High Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools & bragged about Tracie Chauvin, LSCSW coming too! 5 more classes tomorrow & lots of familiar faces then back home for the weekend.#kfta2022

People always ask how Ari & X are doing. They are both graduating on Saturday then starting on their masters in January. X was also named a football All American! Ariyanna will be working at a daycare as well! These are two amazing humans & will impact so many lives! #kfta2022

The Kansas Future Teacher Academy kicked off yesterday at Emporia State Univ.. More than 90 students representing nearly 60 high schools across Kansas are attending this five-day camp. That is the highest number of students in attendance since the program's inception in 1989. KS Future Teacher

This morning's breakout sessions at the 32nd KS Future Teacher camp at Emporia State Univ. highlighted social-emotional learning, including brain architecture and how to engage students in the classroom. This afternoon will include keynote sessions from KSDE's Randy Watson and Dr. Jay Scott.

Betty Arnold and Danny Zeck, Kansas State Board of Education members, spent time during lunch visiting with a group of students from KS Future Teacher about inclusion and diversity as part of collecting student voice information for the State Board.
