Glory of Manipur, the State Bird Nongin (Bar-tailed Pheasant or Hume’s Pheasant). Not rare in parts of Manipur but a long history of bushmeat hunting has made it wary and secretive. We were lucky to see eight, including two females and a breeding male that we photographed.
