It’s been a minute since I’ve shared something personal here, but today I’m mad as hell. Been mad as hell all week. Thou shalt not kill. Unless... link.medium.com/jy99dc6VKfb

So much gets lost when we try to limit ourselves to word counts. Like the human beings impacted by policy: link.medium.com/ISVCs4Bv7fb

My credit card was stolen, so I just updated 8 auto-pay profiles, each of which took under 3 minutes to do. Then I spent 30 minutes trying to update with Kaiser Permanente and still wasn’t able to. If there is a more useless website on the planet, I’d like to hear about it.

This opinion is mine: Rental aid is not being distributed because of the complex bureaucracy associated with it, which is the result of the prevailing mindset that government help is full of waste. Simply: people who fear waste create the waste they fear. apnews.com/article/lifest…

Open enrollment starts next week, (and only in America is this the bar for choosing the company to which you’re going to pay thousands of dollars for next to nothing, but) I need your help/opinions: which health insurance company sucks the least?

Wrong. Those of us on the ground engage trauma-informed care, which takes into account the possibility that traumatic experiences have been extensive enough to prohibit the kind of accountability this author calls for. Thanks for helping the “easy ones,” though.

If you can show me a space in which Housing First is not generally working, I can show you a program that is missing the “supportive” piece of permanent supportive housing.

If there is an increase in deaths among people experiencing homelessness, and a simultaneous or subsequent decrease in the number of people experiencing homelessness, I think we can deduce that the decrease might have something to do with houseless people dying waiting for help.

I ran into a dear friend yesterday, who shared with me that he’s been using our trail systems more often. I braced myself and he reported that his increased trail use had also increased his compassion for people on the margins. Would that we could ALL be this open-hearted. ❤️

Real question: why are the folks who were so upset about government overreach in personal health matters (vaccine mandates) not outraged that the government is telling me I can’t opt to get a booster on my own (which I want because I care for & work with immunocompromised ppl)??
