The De Guyter Handbook of Degrowth is out now with incredible contributions from 41 scholars, authors, and activists. Thank you to everyone involved! Here's a thread about what we hope the handbook delivers and what I've learned from editing it. degruyter.com/document/doi/1… 🧵1/12

The fantastic editor-duo of Alasdair Cochrane and Mara-Daria Cojacaru kept us all on track. Really happy to be part of this publication together with Kymlicka & Donaldson, Charlotte Blattner, Kendra Coulter, Alex Lockwood, Lori Gruen, EricavonEssen & Michael Allen and Christopher Steck, SJ.

Carbon pricing, via a tax or market, still meets resistance. We review main criticisms & find them to ignore relevant theory + evidence. Critics can better contribute to global climate policy by defending proper & uniform implementation of carbon pricing. dx.doi.org/10.1561/101.00…

Which climate policies work? Glad to see our paper, led by Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research PIK and others and published in Science, can provide crucial insights. Key messages 1. Mixes>stand-alone 2. There is no one-size fits all approach Study was possible thanks to our climate policy database CAPMF.

I just finished reading this degrowth hit piece everyone's tweeting about. It's a hugely problematic paper. Degrowth is not without flaws. But the problem with this hit piece is that it essentially labels the entire degrowth paradigm as 'unscientific' without much evidence.

Thanks! I do think that our freshly minted paper might be a little interesting for some people thinking about support for sustainability policies. It is a modest contribution to a proliferating literature on socioeconomic cleavages in carbon taxation.
