A look back at Helene from last year. You can see the precursor rain event that dumped a lot of rain over the mountains even before Helene came in.

The trend continues for this storm to remain offshore. While the coast may have some impacts, we see little here. Weather still looks rainy Monday and Tuesday, but not anything we can’t handle.

Here's the latest track for Tropical Storm Imelda. The storm continues to stay well offshore and has little to no impact for our area. The Carolina coast will still get some decent rain and very rough seas.

Some scattered showers are starting to drift into our eastern counties this morning. We'll see more of these showers picking up by this afternoon. I'm tracking the latest on Imelda and the little amount of rain we see here. That's ahead on Channel 9 through 7 am.

Here's a look at today's rain chances. Showers are going to pick up this afternoon with the bulk of the steadiest rain staying on the east side of the area.

Once we get through some rain today and tomorrow, the rest of the week looks AMAZING! We are about to get back into the some real fall weather. Friday could be the coolest morning of the season so far.

Light rain showers continue to drift in from the east and it's more of a nuisance rain than anything. I'm tracking how long these showers stay with us, ahead at noon on Channel 9.

We continue to see light rain and mist for most of our area this morning. The steadiest rains remain off to our east. You'll need the umbrellas through midday before we dry out a bit this afternoon. I'm tracking when the rain moves on and we get into a gorgeous stretch of weather

We'll deal with some light rain and mist this morning but we do get drier as the day goes on. Temps only warm up to the lower 70s this afternoon.

Imelda is nearly a hurricane this morning and continues to move off to the northeast. As it moves away, our rain chances drop off.

While it rained most of the day yesterday into last night, it only added up to less than a half inch (officially .4" at CLT.) Big totals stayed off to our east as expected. Sure would have been nice to get some of that.

We have an amazing day ahead with just a few clouds around early in the day. Sunshine and warm temps near 80 degrees this afternoon. Enjoy!

Have those jackets and sweatshirts ready to go for the next few mornings. We have the coolest air of the season coming our way by Friday. It could end up being the coolest morning since the end of May!

September didn't bring us much rain with just under 2.75" (an inch below average.) October is starting out just as dry with no rain in the forecast heading through the weekend.
