Our unions and our labor movement are stronger because of LGBTQIA+ working people. During WorldPride, America’s unions marched to celebrate love, identity, the freedom to live authentically and worker power.

I risked my life to defend every American’s right to free speech.  If you choose to exercise your first amendment rights this weekend, please do it peacefully – and remember to uphold the values of our flag and all it represents while you do.

We all share the same sunrise and rest under the same stars. Political disagreement can never justify violence among us. My statement below on the assassination of Minnesota House Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and Attack on State Senator John Hoffman:

George Washington declined the opportunity to be king, establishing our tradition of civilian rule and the peaceful transition of power. This is still no time for a king. We must adhere to the Constitution and denounce despotism.

Yesterday was incredible. More than 5M people across the country stood up to say #NoKings. This country belongs to all of us. There are so many people to thank, including Indivisible, ACLU, 50501 and of course all the people who showed up, including our fantastic AFT members
