We found a third site on the farm last night that this very rare damselfly (the small red) calls home! The species has now been recorded along our farm's entire length of habitat corridor. All sites are ponds we dug in collaboration with Amphibian and Reptile Conservation 4-5 years ago! #habitatcreation
A couple of these moths were frantically feeding on Honeysuckle and Comfrey earlier; day fliers, rapid wing speed and distinct wing clips near the wing tips. Could it be a type of Underwing? We're struggling to identify them, any thoughts welcome! UK Moth Identification #MothNight #DayFliers
Saw this bird-like beauty on the wing tonight nectar feeding. Truly awesome sight and what an absolute whopper easily 12cm across! 99.99% sure it's migrant Convolvulus Hawk-moth from our fleeting encounter.
