It's been a good day UK Bus Awards today, meeting industry colleagues from across the country. Well done to all the winners, especially my old boss Peter Crichton who was recognised with a well deserved services to the bus industry award.

Just arrived in London for lunch and to start a busy week of work and travel.

With all the messing about I do with buses, both for work and pleasure, it has been great fun playing with trains recently. I've been helping to build a narrow guage railway Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft to add to their visitor attractions. Still more to do; if my body will allow it!

Had a long but enjoyable day helping out at this year's UK Bus Awards . It was great to see so many familiar faces, even better when they were collecting there well deserved awards.

Back out behind the wheel today on a school contract. I'm worried that it seems to be nearly 14 years since I last drove the school bus... am I really that old?

I've had a nice day in York seeing some of First's latest EVs in action. It's an interesting mixed fleet of DD, SD, Optare and Wrighbus.

I've had a good day in Oxford today, sampling the new electric buses. Even had the chance to pop down to the Oxford Bus depot to chat with the team and see how it all works.

What with my recent career move, it seems fitting that I helped to rebrand one of our vehicles last night to commemorate 50 years since our local authority took control of the regions bus services. Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft
