The most value comes from doing something no one else can do, or no one else has thought of, in a way that is hard for other people to copy. If you try to be just like everyone else, and do just what they’re doing, you will maybe do ok but certainly not great.

Many software startups are going remote. I wonder if this is possible for a hardware startup? Perhaps if everybody had identical up-to-date physical prototypes in front of them. I find a lot of creativity comes from handling physical products, which wouldn't occur in CAD.

I just saw the epitome of the gig/sharing economy. A guy wearing a Uber Eats delivery back pack riding a rented Lime e-bike down the road. Almost no barriers to do that - you just need a phone. #UberEATS #gigeconomy

This is one of the most powerful ideas I've seen in a long time. "Technology democratizes consumption but consolidates production. The best person in the world at anything gets to do it for everyone." — Naval

When lab grown meat is cheaper than farm, my guess it will start off as a processed meat filler - added to sausage, meatloaf, mince, school lunches etc. Mass produced protein filler without the need for realistic texture.

If you don't have something that genuinely fascinates you, you're going to give-up long before the point you finally stumble on the thing that works.

Generative images/chat is the first time my mind can't grasp that a technology exists. Creating images with perfect composition, reflections, and lighting - all from models. Nuts.

With the rate of AI, it seems the only things safe will be physical products with a moat, or strong brands. Everything else is getting automated and commoditised (including the AI tools and storytellers).

Nothing says 'summer vacation' like re-reading Zero to One with a cold drink in hand. My Christmas tradition. Living the nerd dream.

What's it going to be like growing up in a world where all media - every show, movie, ad and image isn't real. Except news of current events. All other media will be created by AI due to cost, even if indistinguishable from the real thing.

The speed of AI is going to continually reset the playing field. Years of proprietary tech development can now be outpaced by learning AI - leveling the ground for new entrants.
