Can anyone really defend a budget proposal that adds a mere 47 cents to its per student base student allocation? The Funding Compression is a nonsensical and harmful addition to the K12 funding formula that benefits some counties at the severe expense of South Florida taxpayers.

Inexplicably, this year's Ed budget is historically disappointing for South FL schools. How can anyone justify per-student increases of $65.06 and $52.35 for Miami-Dade and Broward, respectively, with significantly higher costs of living, compared to the state average of $101.50?
