The 2nd of two Xmas traditions I’m happy to get behind (1st was baking my favourite Xmas cake😋), wreath making with a friend at a local farm shop. Love having a seasonal wreath on my door over the dark winter months, it feels celebratory 😊

I usually collect blackberries and apples during autumn to make jam and compote to eat through winter, but was away this year 😞. However, thanks to Georgia @PeronaLab , I have fruits gathered and frozen at their peak in the crockpot today. Tonight’s dinner might be crumble😊

Such a glorious morning for a walk.

It’s been pretty crap at work recently (3 members down in my team), so I worked from home this week, which helped a bit. It also means I can do ~20-30 mins of sewing before starting each morning, which also helps. This will become a summer quilt eventually.

I might need to change my out of office message……snowed in, don’t bother sending rescue😊

The first day we’ve been able to get out for a walk (without serious rain gear) in a week. Such a lovely and calming sound.

I keep seeing this cool tesselating story pop up in my feed, so of course I’ve put my other sewing projects on hold temporarily to reproduce it. Aperiodic tiling in fabric, why not🤔🤷🏼‍♀️

I reckon I’ve just about scratched this itch of realising the aperiodic tiling in fabric. Think I might make this into a square, and then a pillow cover. Anyone fancy a geeky decorative pillow for a donation to a charity of my choice? UoG or UK preferred.

A week of working from home (and the commute time that frees up) has generated a cushion cover for a cousin back in Oz. This one was a LOT of fun to make😊

Sometimes I sew for my own sanity, and sometimes that’s not the case! This block has so many teeny tiny pieces, it nearly did my head in, but I’m chuffed with how it turned out😊

Tick one off the bucket list! Completely magical to see.

A gloriously crisp autumn morning is a thing of joy…..just be glad you don’t get the full sensory experience of this view today, it was decidedly ripe with the smell of ‘cow’!🥴

Remember all those teeny tiny squares I was stitching…..well they’re finally getting closer to becoming a quilt.

And that’s 20 little boxy pouches made for gifts for my team, to say thanks for being so wonderful to work with over the past few years. Only three more days in this job before moving on to new adventures 😊

10 years ago, almost to the day, I came back to Scotland and started at the University of Glasgow. 10 yrs, and 4 roles later, tomorrow I start at the University of Edinburgh. The saying ‘People Make Glasgow has 100% been the case, so let’s see what Edinburgh has to offer😊
