JPN’s proposed GHG reduction path : -60% by 2035, - 73% by 2040 from 2013 level. (= -51% by 2035, -69% by 2040 from 2019 level). The draft target will be presented within this yr and decided in Feb 2025.

It is hard to call the govt pathway being aligned with 1.5℃ goal as; ・In 2035, Japan’s reduction would be below the IPCC 1.5℃ global median ・While the remainder of the carbon budget decreases, Japan’s cumulative emissions increase (red part) compared to CAT scenario (2/2)
