Want to make your UX projects go smoother? Take time to dissect the brief/hypothesis. Ask questions and get clear on what the problem is. Write an outcome in your own words. Check it with the stakeholder and watch your workflow improve.

A lot of people build reactive portfolios when looking for a new job. The best approach is to be proactive and constantly build your portfolio as you work. #design #ux #ui

I'm going to be sharing more of the skills i'm learning day to day as a UX designer, things like: Feedback: Giving it and getting it Presenting Storytelling UX process Psychology

When asking for feedback on a design, make sure you set the scene and explain the brief/outcome first. Tell them the reason why before they need to ask and everything else will go smoothly.

There's no point asking for feedback on one big piece of work, you need to get specific with it. Ask for feedback on one thing that you're unsure about and then start the conversation. Things will come up naturally this way.

Want better feedback on your design work? Ask for a one to one session. There's nothing worse than your work being ripped apart in a group.

Face to face feedback will always be better than written feedback. So many things can be misinterpreted, this is the same for a lot of things.

Clear storytelling comes from setting the scene I'm only ever a nervous wreck in presentations when I fail to do this and I jump straight in. No one has a clue what's going on and it shows.

I did one of those big 5 personality tests recently and the results where: 96% Openness 40% Conscientiousness 81% Extroversion 83% Agreeableness 35% Neuroticism Having low conscientiousness makes sense because I can never stick to anything for longer than a couple of weeks.

I started work as a UX designer back in 2019. It was my first big company job and I was nervous, low on confidence, and wasn't myself. In one of my first one to ones I was told that knowledge is the key to confidence and it's so true. I'll never forget that.

I enjoy UX design as a job, I find it challenging and creative at times but it definitely has it's bad days. It can be boring and uninspiring. This is why I need little side projects just to tide me over.

I learned about the 80/20 rule or the Pareto Principle and how it can be applied to design but applying it to your own life has so many more benefits. Cut the fat and do what matters.
