I'm gonna keep on dancing on the way to the Moon🎵 Today, the Artemis II crew woke up to "Pink Pony Club" by Chappell Roan.

A new milestone for humankind: The crew of Artemis II are now the farthest any human has ever travelled, reaching a maximum distance of 252,752 miles from Earth. This surpasses the previous record set by Apollo 13 in 1970 by about 4,102 miles.

Earthset. The Artemis II crew captured this view of an Earthset on April 6, 2026, as they flew around the Moon. The image is reminiscent of the iconic Earthrise image taken by astronaut Bill Anders 58 years earlier as the Apollo 8 crew flew around the Moon.

The eclipse from Orion. On April 6, external cameras attached to the Orion spacecraft's solar array wings captured the Moon backlit by the Sun during a solar eclipse.

Selfie time!!! My crew snapped this photo of me and my bestie Christina H Koch using one of the solar array wing cameras on our Orion spacecraft! When we're not taking selfies, we take pictures of the Moon and Earth and record what we see for scientists back home. -Rise

Orion’s crew and service module have separated. The crew module continues on its path towards Earth while the service module will harmlessly burn up in Earth’s atmosphere over the Pacific Ocean. The Artemis II return trajectory is designed to ensure any remaining debris does not

Our crew on the International Space Station caught a glimpse of the NASA Artemis II crew as they re-entered the atmosphere from their journey to the Moon! We first saw a bright light and a trail as the service module burned up. We didn’t see the Orion capsule itself as it re-entered, but we

Only one chance in this lifetime… Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as Christina H Koch is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those
