Fab nature event at Souter last night, moth event was excellent with nearly 50 species caught and despite making us wait we ringed 4 gorgeous Storm Petrels. Just a lovely night all around. Pics by Robin Hunter and Neil Arkley

Was not expecting to see LARGE COPPER at my local reserve this morning Rodley Nature Reserve-BRIDGE IS OPEN (with issues) bearing in mind they have been extinct in the UK since the 1850's. Beautiful butterfly but an obvious illegal release. Saw three but there were at least 6.

Amazing to find Comma caterpillars on nettles in the garden this morning. Seen regular adults in the garden this year so makes leaving wild areas so much more worth while.
