Man, is this enforcement effort going to be expensive. So many police officers, so many shifts, so many hotel rooms, so much overtime, fuel, meals, etcetera. And when it is over how will they ensure trucks donโ€™t ever snarl downtown Ottawa like this again?

PROTESTORS: We told you to leave. We gave you time to leave. We were slow and methodical, yet you were assaultive and aggressive with officers and the horses. Based on your behaviour, we are responding by including helmets and batons for our safety.

Police arrested protesters wearing body armor, they had smoke grenades on them and miscellaneous fireworks in their bags. Additional smoke grenades and fireworks were located and seized in a vehicle on Wellington.

We are seeing protestors bringing their children to the unlawful protest site. This is a reminder if you bring a minor (a person under 18) with you to an unlawful protest site you may be charged and be fined up to $5000 and potentially spend up to five years in prison.

We know the events in #Ottawa are upsetting. Still, weโ€™re asking people to stop calling critical emergency and operational phone lines to express displeasure about the police action to remove an unlawful assembly downtown.

A major police operation in Ottawa to remove the occupiers including the OPP & Doug Ford is tweeting about free fishing and removing tolls. Doug Ford has been been completely MIA in this crisis. He abandoned Ottawa residents. 100+ days til the provincial รฉlection. Get involved.

Breaking: Alberta sent Federal govt a letter Feb 5 seeking Federal help to stop blockade at border even tho Jason Kenney ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ threatens a court challenge over Emergencies Act. I obtained a letter sent saying: in order to ensure a return of free movement of people, vehicles and goods1/4

1. The ONLY reason Ottawa Police acted at all was because thousands of residents stood up and were organizing against the far-right in our city and calling out their complicity with the occupiers. We proved that WE keep each other safe not police. 2/8

This feels a bit shameless. Thanks for driving by at the end after 24 days of #OttawaOccupation. My thanks to the mutual aid community, @cmckenney and @JLeiper who have been on the ground, #RamRanchResistance, Ottawa residents at the #battleofbillingsbridge, and first responders.

I would like to thank Ottawa Police, Ontario Provincial Police, RCMP & officers from across Canada who aided in the effort to clear and secure downtown Ottawa. We are very grateful for their service and professionalism throughout the operation.

This is best speech in Parliament in years. Take a moment and listen. Truth, anger, resolve and hope. Leah Gazan MP articulates all of my fears and concerns in one powerful speech. Civics lesson. /1

And this: โ€œThis Convoy is a fraud whose lead organizers claim to represent workers, human rights, peace and love, but in fact are deeply hostile to the working class and direct and close ties to hate groups.โ€ 2/2

A Coventry Road location previously occupied by an unlawful assembly is now clear. 20 vehicles were towed and a police presence will remain in place to prevent anyone from returning. #ottawa #ottnews
