The Windrush arrival marked a turning point, when Caribbeans came here to help re-build our nation, to work in the newly created NHS, and in the other sectors. Today, and every day, we honour the extraordinary contributions and resilience of the Windrush generation.

Today, on #ArmedForcesDay, let’s give thanks for the commitment and sacrifice of the many who serve, and for the steadfastness of their families.

Exciting times ahead: Brunel University London joins University of London — this will provide a greater focus for academic excellence & innovation, including Brunel’s critical role in NW London’s economy; and importantly more opportunities for our young people in our global capital of higher education.

At my surgery today, met residents worried abt Penny Dash’s comprehensive & concerning report on CQC — they rely on the regulator’s assessments when making choices abt their care. However, I’m pleased that Labour’s Health Secretary is taking a swift action to resolve this crisis.

Having chaired a planning committee that gave the planning permission to Kingsbury Temple, it’s an honour to join HH Shree Swamiji Maharaj to mark the Temple’s 10th anniversary. This milestone is a testament to the faith and vigour of the congregation and leaders at the Temple!
