Last day of our season today. Open until 5pm. A busy morning, so far, with last minute visitors eager to catch the Stella Benjamin: WEAVER exhibition before we shut...braving the wild weather to get here. Hot coffee and delicious cakes await anyone who can still get here today.

We have now re-opened! Our gardens are in full bloom and our gallery is open 10:30am - 4pm Tuesday - Sunday. Current exhibition: Markéta Luskačová: 'By the Sea' 11 July - 6 September 2020 B/w photographs of coastal NE England from 1978-9, on loan from the Martin Parr Foundation.

'By the Sea' is a touring exhibition of black and white photographs by Czech-born Markéta Luskačová, on loan from the Martin Parr Foundation in Bristol. It is a fascinating exploration of the particular sea-side community of Whitley Bay and the surrounding area.

Our entry donations are dedicated to the National Garden Scheme (NGS) every Wednesday throughout the season. Our gardens are in peak bloom at the moment and the wild flower meadow is also still filled with flowers and flying friends like bees, butterflies and moths.

Ours doors are open this weekend - come and visit us! Free admission as always; gallery hours 10:30am - 4pm and the garden stays open until 5pm.... Black and white photography on show (Markéta Luskačová: 'By the Sea', 11 Jul - 6 Sep) and Frenchman's Creek just down the way...

Fourthland: Into the drum Rhythm sharing circle Thursday 30 July 7pm - 9pm Invitation to step into the dabke. Explore the use of drum and dance for change. The circle will share from the Rhythm Forecasts project and offer group conversation. Register: [email protected]

Sunday 2 August at Kestle Barton from 11am - 3pm refreshments will be served in the garden: our apple juice - grown and pressed on site, Roskilly's ice cream, cake slices, a selection of teas and Origin coffee. In the gallery from 10:30am - 4pm 'By the Sea' (11 Jul - 6 Sep).

This weekend we will be serving refreshments in the garden from 11am - 3pm: Come enjoy the exhibition, taste our delicious apple juice - grown and pressed on site, Roskilly's ice cream or locally baked cake slices. We also have teas and Origin coffee available during these hours.

t's another hot summer day at Kestle Barton... with the walk down to Frenchman's Creek shaded by the trees. The gallery is a cool heaven as well as offering an insightful, sensitive exhibition Markéta Luskačová: 'By the Sea'. Free admission. Refreshments served this weekend.

The National Garden Scheme has raised over £60 million to nursing and health charities in the UK since it began in 1927. Wednesdays all our entry donations go to the NGS: beneficiaries including Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK and The Queen's Nursing Institute.

Sarah Gillespie's 'Moth' exhibition is now on at Kestle Barton until 31 October. This show represents the culmination of an eighteen month long project, researching, drawing and engraving common English moths. Free admission. Open Tuesday - Sunday 10:30am - 4pm (Garden until 5pm)

Sarah Gillespie: 'Moth' (12 Sep - 31 Oct) These Mezzotint engravings draw attention to the catastrophic collapse of moths in recent years and goes further to celebrate their unseen nocturnal lives, their exquisite diversity, and the poetry of their common English names.

The Kestle Barton season will end after 31 Oct. There is still over a week to see Sarah Gillespie's, sensitive and extremely well received, 'Moth' exhibition. Some Interesting Apples event on this weekend too. Open Tue - Sun 10:30am - 4pm and the gardens until 5pm. Free admission
