One scary inevitability when SGE is released to the public, and as the world shifts more towards using AI tools to answer questions, is that SEO will evolve from simply influencing which websites appear, to also influencing which answers appear.

April Fools in the digital marketing space died for me after REI released Adventure Kitten Gear many years ago. Peak content marketing. It was brilliant and attracted so much attention, not to mention backlinks. Everyone was talking about it. Nothing snarky. Just good clean fun.

Catalin Zorzini Nothing 100% conclusive.

But a few things I see that are common among rising sites as opposed to those hit are:

1. Brand signals outside of Google
2. Original, human-written content
3. Unique images (image search shows no other results)
4. No 'fluff'
5. Comments (UGC)
6. Links

For a company that says to go easy on the ads, Google search is an all-out ASSAULT on the user.

Just ad after ad.

They really make it hard to find Forbes and Reddit 1st and 2nd.

So far, the actual algorithm update has only slapped bulk AI sites with no editing, stupidly high publishing frequency, no rich media and no additional quality score signals.

EVERY site that actually matters that has been hit was via manual, pure spam penalties, NOT the Algo.

🤓Previously, SEO was hard because there was a lot of good competition in search results. Now, SEO is hard because Google keeps breaking what they have built. 🥸

Google has stolen this traffic back.

According to Ahrefs, traffic is falling off a cliff.

I do not see any rankings present, and using a site: search, only the homepage is currently indexed.

Do not embarrass Google.
