Signs and indications of appendix cancer are: -Appendicitis -Bloating -Ascites (fluid in the abdomen) -Changes in bowel function -Pain in the pelvic area -Infertility -Increase in size of waistline #AppendixCancerAwareness

Appendix Cancer Risk Factors: -Smoking. -A family history of appendix cancer or MEN1 syndrome increases the risk. -Conditions like atrophic gastritis or pernicious anemia raise the risk. -Risk increases with age. Women are more likely to develop carcinoid tumors than men.

Types of Appendix Cancer; Neuroendocrine Tumors (NETs): - Most common - Start in hormone-producing cells - Often found during an appendectomy Carcinomas: - Rarer and more aggressive - Begin in the appendix lining - Can spread and need intensive treatment.

Our ED Ms. Phoebe Ongadi explored collaboration opportunities, emphasizing the link between SRH and #Cancer. #PalliativeCare #SRH
