I will be participating in the Rhode Island Author Expo this coming Saturday! Along with a whole mess of other RI writers, I'll be talking to readers, hawking books, and generally having a good time. Maybe I'll see you there!

Someone needs to create a video showing either the emergence, and first flight of a butterfly, or of a fledgling bird, to Hans Zimmer’s “Man of Steel” theme.

This quote, from the The New York Times review of the OPPENHEIMER film: 'He served as director of a clandestine weapons lab built in a near-desolate stretch of Los Alamos, in New Mexico'...

I have never especially liked the Darwin Awards. Laughing at someone else’s death or endangerment nauseates me. Laugh at your own, if you dare.

This is an ordinarily thoughtful and careful writer using the word “cisgender” in a tweet as an experiment to determine how serious Elon Musk is about this idiocy.

If academics could really brainwash & indoctrinate our students, we'd brainwash ‘em to do all the reading, take thorough notes, and submit their work on time. Since we CAN’T DO EVEN THAT, y'all can rest assured that we're not (successfully) indoctrinating them in anything else.

Really digging the panel choices available for Readercon this year. (As usual, selecting panels, prioritizing them, and writing my 'pitches' for inclusion take for-e-ver, but it's actually kinda fun. 🙂)

Am I the only writer who occasionally is moved (emotionally) to write a type of fiction they aren’t particularly interested in reading?
