Yesterday we hosted the annual Former NatureScot account Marine Policy Workshop Thank you to presenters Amie Oman, Kelly James, Rona Sinclair, Eunice Pinn, and Ruth Paterson, and also to the MSc students and PGRs that joined us. We hope that the day was informative and inspirational!

Check out this awesome PhD opportunity at the University of Glasgow! I covered similar topics during my MSc at the UofG. It was a great course and there are some great experts in the department. #PhD #WomenInScience #womeninSTEM

University of Glasgow recently asked me to write a narrative of my career story so far 👩🔬 I have tried to write as openly as I can about past experiences. It feels quite vulnerable to put some of this out there but if it helps at least one person, its been worthwhile!

Working with partners NatureScot & @SAMSoceannewson - recently published findings show a substantial increase in numbers for the critically endangered #FlapperSkate since protection measures in the Loch Sunart to Jura MPA came into effect Find out more👉 bit.ly/4dkK2KJ

🚨New Paper Alert!🚨 Great to see this published in Global Change Biology. A little fresher since my thesis and contributes to the ongoing discussion regarding #bluecarbon. Big thanks to my co-authors Nick Kamenos Heidi Burdett Prof. Peter Macreadie and Ian Davies!😁 onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11…

New review by UMF researchers Nick Kamenos Heidi Burdett & collaborators: we must reconsider what is a #BlueCarbon ecosystem! #MudFlats, #CorallineAlgae, #Sediments & #CoralReef lagoons store lots of organic #carbon onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/gc… Prof. Peter Macreadie Kelly James Blue Carbon Lab

Fantastic evening with @FindhornWater starting to map the Seagrass in Findhorn Bay! Brilliant first outing for the NatureScot funded Moray Ocean Community GPS - lots of brilliant learning and upskilling. Project Seagrass 💙🌊🌱

#PhDOpportunity CDTS331 - Maerl beds are vital habitats for marine biodiversity & sequestering carbon but are threatened by human activities & climate change. Conduct interdisciplinary research to identify how to restore maerl beds supervised by Mike Allen 👨🔬 & Jamie Stevens 🧵

A fantastic final snorkel to finish off our learning and snorkel upskilling weekend with @FSC_Millport & Laura Curtis-Moss FRSA - watch this space for more videos from our underwater cameras! NatureScot Sea-Changers @cc
