The writer states it would be “A good thing” if someone with “infirmity” felt they should end their life.

I don’t think such a baldly utilitarian view has been articulated for 80 years.

Much rightful outrage about Matthew Parris’ column. The view he expresses is abhorrent, but won’t be surprising to many people. Many incl Liz "blue tick" Carr have highlighted this concern for years. The only surprising part is that, as Yuan Yi Zhu points out, he actually said it out loud.

Uncomfortable that the AD committee’s majority report focussed so much on Australia & NZ that have introduced EAS so recently & so little on Canada

The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI) notes the recommendations of the Oireachtas Committee on Assisted Dying. RCPI opposes the introduction of any legislation supportive of assisted suicide because it is contrary to best medical practice.
