An extreme view on #AssistedSuicide #assisteddying
The writer states it would be “A good thing” if someone with “infirmity” felt they should end their life.
I don’t think such a baldly utilitarian view has been articulated for 80 years.
Is the mask slipping in this debate?
Much rightful outrage about Matthew Parris’ column. The view he expresses is abhorrent, but won’t be surprising to many people. Many incl Liz "blue tick" Carr have highlighted this concern for years. The only surprising part is that, as Yuan Yi Zhu points out, he actually said it out loud.

Eileen Coburn Elaine N It’s extremely worrying what’s happening with euthanasia & assisted suicide in Canada - in reality >99% is via euthanasia.
Uncomfortable that the AD committee’s majority report focussed so much on Australia & NZ that have introduced EAS so recently & so little on Canada

As predicted, voices in Australia for #assistedsuicide and #euthanasia , legalised between 2019 and 2023, are campaigning for those suffering from dementia to be euthanized if they requested when they were compis mentis. Promised #Safeguards are pointless. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
Absolutely gutted by this
Why as a country we persist in importing strategies that have been disastrous elsewhere I 🤦🏻♀️
A really bad day for vulnerable groups in this country
