We want the war horse. Jesus rides a donkey. We want the eagle. The Holy Spirit descends as a dove. We want to take up swords. Jesus takes up a cross. We want the roaring lion. God comes as a slaughtered lamb. We keep trying to arm God. God keeps trying to disarm us.

Changing culture takes time. Each day is a battle against ego, insecurity, doubt, fear, busyness, old habits. What was good yesterday can be on shaky ground today. But the fight is worth it. Believe in yourself, your people, and the vision. Celebrate progress. Show up daily.

Crowd culture is just as important to games as program culture. Things winning programs have: crowds with most parents cheering (not screaming at coaches or kids) cheerleaders & bands cheer & perform at the right times Want your team to be better? Help the crowd culture

Parents: Teach kids that their relationship with their coach is THEIR relationship. They have to take the initiative to work out issues instead of depending on you to do it. Don’t intervene on their behalf unless it’s absolutely necessary. That kind of independence is invaluable!

Baylor’s lost its fair share of recruits over the years but given the position, depth, and time spent, this is an all-timer of a recruiting miss.

Coaches remember....... Coaching is your ministry. Somewhere there's a parent praying for their son or daughter to have a coach in their lives that will help lead and guide them and love them like their own. Be that Coach. #FoodForThought 💭

How to make church not “about you” this weekend: -Pray for others -Serve & volunteer -Be a worshipper not a consumer -Show up on time -Don’t fill the back seats 1st -Sing, even if it’s not your favorite song -Participate instead of spectate -Don’t nitpick -Go live out the sermon
