The attack on Charlie Kirk is disgusting, vile, and reprehensible. In the United States of America, we must reject political violence in EVERY form.

In a display of unity across the political aisle, the Young Democrats of Connecticut and Connecticut Young Republicans have issued a joint statement offering prayers for Charlie Kirk and condemning political violence:

And now that Kirk has died, he should be remembered not for what side he was on or what positions he took, but that he was killed for doing nothing more than actively and passionately participating as a citizen in a republic. RIP.

I will be the first to admit that I did not agree with Charlie Kirk on his mixing of politics and Christianity. I actually believe his methods were against the scriptures. But his belief in Christ is something I do agree with. And is far more important than his political

This is well said. I abhorred just about everything about Kirk’s approach, but the practice of persuading your neighbor is what we need MORE of in this country. May God have mercy on us as a nation

I actually think “I detested everything he stood for but I would die defending his right to say it” is a more important moral commitment than arguing that someone didn’t deserve to die because they had some good qualities
