#OTD in 1977, 45 yrs ago, Voyager 1 launched. Currently fastest (17 km/s) & farthest (22 light-hours) object created by humans - still working & still tracked by NASA! Here is the tiny, faint cry of our species into the cold expanse of an indifferent galaxy. #space #science

This ad for a "free" t-shirt popped up on my feed. As if the planet needs more t-shirts. Wonder how much water was required in its manufacture including that needed for cotton growth? #ironicecowaste #climate #climatecrisis #GlobalWarming

In just 10 days, the town of Massaco, CT -- and its alleged ghost -- makes a visit to #LosAngeles. Mark your calendar and do consider dropping by. Bring a friend. Or two. No reservation required. THE ROAD theatre #NoHoArtsDistrict #LAThtr #ClimateCrisis #green #GlobalWarming #theater

2¹³⁶²⁷⁹⁸⁴¹−1, discovered today, is the largest known prime. It's a Mersenne prime (2ᵖ-1), which are easier to find. It took nearly 6 years for the GIMPS software to find it after the previous largest known prime. It was also the first Mersenne prime found using GPUs.

Today saw a wonderful show Norton Simon Museum: "Plugged In" w/works that use literal light as an artistic medium. Usual suspects on display include Warhol, Flavin, & Rauschenberg but, for me, it was this little piece tucked near the exhibition's end that stole the show. #art
