I’m saying this with DESPERATION in my voice. We have been vaccinating cattle for years. This ensures HEALTHY cattle and calves. This does NOT in ANY WAY impact the quality in the beef products you buy from producers or at the store

1 cow produces over 550 lbs of beef, 30 lbs of organs and 100 lbs of fat That is over 1 million extremely nutritious calories. Assuming an American eats 2000 calories a day, just 1 cow can feed 1 person for 500 days. Please tell me again how this is unsustainable.

Almost 8” of precip in the last 4 weeks and we are as lightly stocked as we have been in a decade at least. Rebuilding year for the range.

Eastern redcedar encroachment reduces carrying capacity on our Sandhills pastures. Proactive management has proved the most successful at controlling the darn things, but what does that look like? Read or listen (~9min) for more info: beef.unl.edu/beefwatch/2023…

I am at the Agronomy society meetings this week and this has been my most exciting find. Look at the root system from sudangrass! 50 inches!

Leaving grass stubble on your pastures helps catch moisture like a net… which gives you a head start for the spring green-up!🌱🌿🌾 SDSU Extension

If your pastures were able to recover from drought, winter grazing of stockpiled grass produced during the growing season might be an option to extend the grazing season and reduce winter feed costs. drovers.com/news/beef-prod…
