The driest air since spring moves in this weekend for what will be a PERFECT September weekend!
Dewpoints will drop from the 60/70s to the 40s/50s by Saturday and Sunday. That is some DRY fall air!
Afternoon highs will be in the 70s and 80s with lows in the 50s! #ARWX
A few, scattered shower/t'showers possible Fri. afternoon and evening as a front comes through. Certainly not everyone will have rain, but there could be a few downpours briefly. The front that causes these showers will bring unbelievably nice air for the weekend! #arwx
A rainy day for a big chunk of southeast Arkansas with the Gulf of Mexico low throwing a lot of moisture that way. For the rest of us, we wait for small chances of showers or thundershowers as the front comes through later today. #arwx
The cold front is getting a little more active in North Arkansas with a few showers/storms. Even in advance of it in central Arkansas, there are some showers #arwx
Some rain moving into the Little Rock metro, including here in Maumelle. Looks like we’ll be inside to start our 5 PM road tripping at the home of the Hornets, Maumelle high school #arwx
We now have a new Tropical Storm. Francine is the name and it is expected to pass by Arkansas later this week. Will be watching for some heavy rainfall, especially in eastern Arkansas, and some gusty winds mainly on Thursday it appears. #arwx
Here is a screenshot of the new model information showing a dying, but potent tropical storm #Francine producing serious rain and some gusty winds mainly in the E 1/2 of our state Thursday. There could be some flooding rainfall in spots even through we are at a rainfall deficit.
TS #Francine has formed and it is headed up into the Mid South. Wind and rain on headed this way. Looks like we will get some beneficial rainfall given how dry it has been lately, but it may be too much of a good thing. And it could have a negative impact especially on the rice
The new forecast from the National Hurricane Center keeps shifting a bit eastward. If this verifies, the heaviest rainfall on Thursday would be in eastern AR and the rest of us would have lower chances/lower amounts of rain. Some models still have Cen AR with 2" of rain, others
Here is a look at peak wind gusts (or close to the peak) tomorrow late afternoon and evening in AR. Some near tropical storm force winds maybe seen in the E 1/2 of the state, but mostly the winds will be sustained in the 20-30 mph range with occasional gusts. #arwx
The remnant low of #Francine is still very apparent on KLZK radar. There are still light showers in spiral bands around the center of circulation. This light range should diminish during the evening and overnight hours #arwx
