96 HOUR RAINFALL TOTALS—A rainy last four days across most of Arkansas. The bulk of the higher rainfall totals are noted across southern Arkansas. A clear boundary of the I-40 corridor and locations south receiving around 1.5 inches of rainfall or greater.

WIND GUSTS—Over the past 24 hours, some of the highest wind gusts from across the state as of Thursday afternoon at 4PM CDT. Note several locations have experienced wind gusts over 40 mph. Winds will begin to subside tonight and be much noticeably lower on Friday.

Overnight low temperatures are expected to drop into the low to mid 40s across the Natural State for your Friday morning. High temperatures are then expected to warm into the upper 60s to mid 70s by Friday afternoon. Dry conditions are expected for the next several days.

In the last couple of days (April 9-10), the vast majority of reports of large hail, damaging winds/wind gusts, tornadoes, and flash flooding were to the south of Arkansas from Texas to Georgia and Florida.

As of Wednesday morning (at 7 am CDT), there was of lot of rain in southern Arkansas (more than four inches in some cases) and almost nothing across the north (less than a tenth of an inch at a lot of places). We'll tack on Wednesday's totals later today.

RADAR CHECK (5:45 PM CDT): Rain with a few rumbles of thunder across western Arkansas starting to expand and build into central Arkansas. It looks to be a rainy night across the state. A few locations may see some lightning so remember when thunder roars to head indoors!

Looking ahead tonight into Thursday: Wind and additional rain expected starting tonight statewide. The rain tapers off tomorrow afternoon, but the wind will stick around through Thursday evening across the state which has prompted a Wind Advisory for part of the state.

Wind has been an issue the last couple of days. On the 8th, a thunderstorm downburst (gusts to 90 mph) caused some damage south of Scott (Pulaski Co). The next day, a wake low formed in southeast Arkansas, and was responsible for 50 to 60 mph gusts in places.

As of 3 am CDT, there is a lull in much of Arkansas. Meanwhile, a major severe weather and flash flood event is unfolding in Texas/Louisiana. While rain will eventually build over the Natural State today, the most active weather will be along the Gulf Coast.

Our survey team has returned from looking at damage near Scott in SE Pulaski county. The verdict is a small microbust was experienced with 80 to 90 mph winds. These winds are equivalent to an EF1 tornado.
