"That's the biggest message to get across — this is an effective method. It is underutilized." -Sameer Sheth Learn about a recent study published by Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry & led by a team at BCMHouston that supports the efficacy of #DBS for #OCD: bit.ly/3dxGsmy #BCMNeurosurgery
Strong work by Ricardo Andrés Nájera, MD and @ron_gdt. 47% ⬇️ in OCD symptoms while 66% of patients were full responders to DBS! Also 50% of patients had comorbid depression and experienced symptom ⬇️ with DBS. This underutilized treatment can dramatically improve patient QOL. Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry
