This is the classical "PaaS" argument. And yes, Sanjiva Weerawarana is correct. If it's enough for you to use an OOTB solution you should absolutely do this. The problem is: at enterprise scale that's just not possible. And everything I ever write about is 100 devs and large scale plus.
