My reaction has nothing to do with my employment, these are personal reflections. I am supportive of the volunteering NUUG has done together with Miss Norway for students in Ukraine. I don't support the signal the event sends of objectifying of women for entertainment.

Knut Yrvin Karoline Klever Rubizon Organizing beauty pageants is "celebrating gender diversity"? I will tell you about my feelings. I would feel utterly uncomfortable being at this event, because it is meant for those who want to look at beauty queens. I feel so much uninvited.

Diversity in tech is about bringing different perspectives to drive innovation. Women and minorities face significant barriers, from hiring to lack of representation. Diversity leads to more creativity and a stronger industry. If this is moralizing vicariously, I'll continue.

If you, on the topic of diversity, call for violence towards people who have different perspectives and opinions than you, you should take a look in the mirror and ask yourself whether your words & actions are part of the problem, or whether you want to be part of the solution.
