Do larger athletes require more carbs during exercise? We might think this is obvious right? But is it actually the case? “Why think? Do the experiment!” (John Hunter) Our latest paper in IJSNEMJournal reports on this experiment doi.org/10.1123/ijsnem… ⛽️ 🚴🏻

The US Army, a nuclear reactor, and Greenland. Pretty cool story, especially in the current climate, ha ha. Also, don't trust the Army with nuclear power. Let the Navy handle it ;) Check out Nukes Below Zero on Wondery wondery.com/shows/redacted…

Anyone else have trouble getting consistent date related performance from LLMs (gpt-4o-mini in my particular case)? I get weird answers when I ask about events "this week" or "coming up soon" even when I have a well formatted json file with calendar data in the vector store.

200 grams CHO/hour. Wow. This points to one of the reasons I suspect the PAL limit of 2.5 will be rewritten in the coming years. The hourly deficit during exercise is shrinking.

The idea of running 250 miles is totally unappealing. But five 50 mile days in a row? For some reason that seems like it might be cool. Back in the day, Jonathan Boyer took on RAAM with a "ride fast & sleep a lot" strategy, IIRC. Could I do #cocodona250 with a similar

The pile of laundry my son left on the bed when he headed off to join the Army 3 months ago is still there. I have to laugh every time I look at it. The juxtaposition of a major life event and the banality of laundry that needed folding always hits me.
