Stories about US themed sweet shops on #OxfordStreet evading #businessrates have hit the press. This situation has been caused by high business rates levies on empty properties forcing landlords to let where they can. It's really time to reform the system. drapersonline.com/news/retail-de…
Very helpful guide from Colliers UK #BusinessRates #Scotland
Snappy animation by Colliers UK #BusinessRates Team highlighting why businesses need to start preparing for #Revaluation2023 now!
Good to see John Webber in Times Business despair at the slow allocation of the £1.5 billion #Covid Relief Fund. The scheme has been bogged down by bureaucracy & remains a total postcode lottery. Businesses denied of their right to appeal their #businessrates deserve more.
Fun day at the Warwick Racecourse today with Colliers UK #BusinessRates Team and their clients and contacts. Big thank you John Webber. Great to watch some good horse racing and help pick the best dressed horse. Well done Geronimo!
Nice comment piece in @EG from #planning partner Nicola Gooch Irwin Mitchell on the newly announced #investmentzones. Nicola has concerns about how effective these will be unless the government itself is prepared to invest. Read her comments here. egi.co.uk/news/how-to-ma…
Good to see John Webber Colliers UK taking the "business rates" question to the heart of Conservative MPs and ministers at #ConservativePartyconference2022 this week
Good fun at the annual Profile event today. Samantha McClary of the @EGPropertyNews telling us all about plans for 2023. Keen to break more deals, focus on D&I and keep regional coverage high (as well as keeping a leading eye on London of course).
Delighted to be quoted The Telegraph on the fiasco of the Covid Relief Fund - 20% of the fund hadn't been allocated to business by the 30/09/22 deadline and less than 25% of local authorities hadn't paid out their full grant allocation. Disappointing! telegraph.co.uk/business/2023/…
Well said John Webber Colliers UK for calling the #Covid #Relief #Fund the postcode lottery it was. Some boroughs did well and distributed most of their funds- but for others and the businesses in them it was a disaster. Good on the Sunday Telegraph for running this story.
Working with markettiers, we asked over 500 #Businesses how much they’d pay to reduce their impact on the #Environment. 84% said they’d be prepared to pay higher rent – on a few conditions. Read their terms, and what green habits they’ve already adopted: bit.ly/41GmeeD
