Is it true that if you eat ice cream after getting a vaccine, they kick in faster? In any case, glad the new spikes landed in time for a 24-hour trip to India tomorrow, even if I'll only get the full benefit after I arrive.

The #OSIRISREx asteroid samples from Bennu are coming back Sunday morning. This is a video of how those samples were taken in October 2020. Wait for the last 16 seconds. Credit: NASA/Goddard/University of Arizona

We've landed in Bangalore for 4 months of Fulbright-ing! I'll be based in engineering depts (w/ Tejas Murthy in Civil & Prabhu Nott in Chemical) instead of physics, which makes this a *double* shift to new cultures. Of course, there are so many soft matter physicists in town, too

Today's goal is to transfer the capsule from the range to a temporary clean room here at UTTR and put the sample on a nitrogen purge. Avoiding contamination is the priority and the team is taking every precaution to protect the sample. go.nasa.gov/44ZkHRe

This is an awesome photo. Like, literally. I am in awe of the fact that, thanks to the work of thousands of people over millions of hours, humankind has successfully returned a primordial piece of the Solar System that's billions of years old. #OSIRISREx

Drinking coffee as a beverage is said to have originated in Yemen in the 15th century in Sufi Shrines. It was there that coffee berries were first roasted & brewed in a way similar to how the drink is prepared today For #InternationalCoffeeDay a thread on coffee & Muslim culture

Sorry to be missing Burton Lab 's visit. This, plus a seminar on how to implement lab-rotations for first year grad students. So much great stuff to share with us!

Got 2 Rayleigh scattering codes if anybody would like them. It's getting more interesting there than here, and has less hate, but I'd love to see more community I care about there in order to make the switch.
