In the NHS we aren’t always very good at looking after those at the top so today, maybe check in on Your Consultant, Your Matron, Your team lead, Your Manager In my experience all the above deeply care for their teams but quite often at great personal sacrifice #OneTeam

Researchers at MIT have questioned whether SMART goals (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, time-bound) actually work. I like the fact that I can email my GP and discuss issues and to lose that would be a step backwards. Obviously this needs to be alongside the possibility of face-face visits as needed & we need to acknowledge that not everybody likes to/can conduct their business electronically.

In my 27 years #asanurse I have supported many people to die at home with their families and loved ones. It has been an honour to be there in their final days. It has also been an honour to support and mentor other staff to be able to do the same.

In every war, nurses are deployed - from casualty clearing at the front to recuperation hospitals in the rear. Not all the wounded, and not all the nurses, make it home. For those that paid the ultimate price, and for the nurses still holding their hands - we will remember you 🌺
