Oh how the tables turn!

When I was 16, I came home to a letter on the kitchen table from my foster carer. It said I had four days to find somewhere else to live. Today, the book in which I write about this experience is pictured here on my own kitchen table. And it is OUT TODAY.

I am baffled by the court ruling today. “Can you find me a quiet place to pray at lunch; I won’t be missing any lessons?” This is a reasonable request and so very easy to accommodate - schools all over the country do so. It should never have become an issue.
