Even more astonishing when you n remember that Starmer positioned his govt as being the one to put an end to the psychodramas and instability that dominated the 22-24 Tory govt. Shows how weak and pathetic Starmer is that he couldn't keep things together for even two years.

Exactly. The final responsibility rests with Starmer, as he made the decision to appoint. Even if Starmer made the argument that he'd franchised his brain to McSweeney, he should resign on the basis that he's incapable of making serious decisions. It's checkmate in one move.
