Right now lots of folks are asking, ‘how can we teach our children not to fall prey to false stories & bias in the news?’ The ABC Education website has worked wonders in my class, plus students enjoy the interactive content. abc.net.au/education/medi… (click menu for lots more)

Students from Aberfoyle Hub R-7 School wanted quotes in their bathrooms, so they picked 6 that they wanted to see. And that's where Mrs Mitchell stepped in! She's spent the last 2 weeks hand painting these doors in her spare time for the students. A-door-able. 🚪

Another FirstAid training with no female CPR units. The trainer said it would be embarrassing to explain female dummies in his car. He also said people are more reluctant to give CPR to women in real life. This shows the need to practise on & not sexualise female form in medicine

It is so important that we as the adult in the room stay in our thinking brain. The very foundation of self-regulation for our students is co-regulation with safe, grounded adults. Knowing when we’re not and tapping out is crucial.

We’ve used Edmodo forums for most of our work, but the highlight has been the chaos of coming together at the end of the day to check in, ask questions, look at pets and play games. #LockdownSA Department for Education SA

20 minutes of online teaching, 100s of messages read, decisions processed, replies made to students (parents and staff). My eyes and my head are extra thankful to be out of #LockdownSA and teaching in person tomorrow!

All school children fully vaccinated, all teachers boostered, HEPA air cleaners in every school room, free RAT testing every school day, free N95 masks. Teachers and school children deserve the exact same protection that politicians are providing for themselves #SaveOurTeahers

Teachers: In the coming weeks you will be asked to wear N95 masks all day (you source). You will need to have windows/doors open in 30-40C heat. You will have to support kids around covid rules. You will have to fill in for colleagues and work more. Sound okay?
