We found that residue mutation preferences are sufficient to explain combinatorial variant effects well across 6 proteins when learning from protein variant data.
This is extending work from Jakub Otwinowski, Frank Poelwijk, Karen Sarkisyan, Joshua B. Plotkin, Fyodor Kondrashov, etc.
