Grading student videos and they make me smile. Because this class is online asynchronous, it's tough to know that we're actually reaching any of the students. These videos are helping though.

Here's a really bad picture of a really cool (and small, hence poor quality photo) of a spider who, in the course of maybe two hours, made an elaborate web I had to remove across our front porch.

With regards to studying for quals - there's a fine line between pushing myself when I don't feel like studying and giving myself a break. I'm gonna find that line, eventually.

Finished my writtens. Got orals on Friday. Brain is melting but I'm just trying to relax and decompress at the moment. Excited to reach this milestone!

Calling all ecologists! Anyone have time to discuss the Huffaker orange experiment with me? I think I get it, but I have questions.

Amplify this if you can - does anyone research the effects of insecticides on volatile production in plants? I've found few articles that address this (one on imidacloprid and GLVs but that's it). Would love someone to point me in a direction if there is one to go in.
