Jeremy Hansen just named Canadian who will fly by the moon. #artemis2 he’s been waiting 14 years for a chance to go to space. Was chosen as an astronaut in 2009. Father of three born in London On.

Had the pleasure is chatting with Jeremy Hansen. He’s 6’ 3” if you’re wondering. It’ll be pretty cramped in that #Artemis2 capsule! Says he’s wanted to go to the moon since he was 5 years old. Second shot is of him at that age at Kennedy Space Center.

Fans and mourners are filing past Gordon Lightfoot’s casket this afternoon. Public visitation today at the church in Orillia, ON where he was once a choir boy. Many hundreds lined up outside. A small private family funeral will take place on Monday.

Covering #NSFires. Cinnamon the cat was just reunited with family. Couple looking after their daughters’ home and kitty couldn’t get to them for 2 days because of evacuation. Volunteers and animal control helped find Cinnamon and get her out. She just enjoyed some treats.

A new fire has broken out near Farmers Dairy Lane in suburban Halifax. Air crews trying to contain it. Nearby area is being evacuated.

Officials fighting #halifaxfire say they’re making progress and fire now 50% contained. Did not grow overnight. Hot day today so still concerned about possible flare ups. But hoping to make more progress and looking forward to rain in the forecast starting tomorrow.

#aircanada reporting an IT system outage. Just boarding flight in Halifax and it’s been halted. Second computer system problem in a week to cause halt-to-operations.

Being told boarding process for flight from Halifax to Toronto will begin shortly. Another flight next to us bound for UK also boarding. Appears the #AirCanada technical glitch may have been resolved.
